  Named in honor of MUSNS Frederick Funston, is a C-3 built in 1942 at Tacoma, Wash., is 492 feet long, 70 feet
 General H. B. Freeman (T-AP-143).  Built in 1945 by Kaiser Co., Inc., Richmond, Calif.  The vessel was named in honor of Major General Henry Blanchard Freeman, U. S. Army, who distinguished himself in the Civil War and who also served through various Indian campaigns and in the Spanish-American War.
