General H. F. Hodges (T-AP-144). Built in 1945 by Kaiser Co., Inc., Richmond, Calif. This C4 type troopship was named in honor of Major General Harry Foote Hodges, Class of 1881, U. S. Military Academy, who served in the Spanish-American War and with the AEF in World War 1. General Hodges engaged in extensive River and Harbor work during most of his Army career.
